Yesterday, a player under the name MightyMayoMan was dropped from a tournament for failing to show up to his loser's bracket round 3 match. His reason? He was too busy playing New Super Mario Brothers on Dolphin emulator and couldn't see the bracket.

"I asked to be pinged when it was my turn to play, I don't understand why everyone got upset! Just because it's my responsibility to play my matches on time and not hold up the tournament that doesn't mean that I should make the Princess wait!" said an exasperated MightyMayoMan, who didn't understand why he was dropped from the bracket. "I didn't even make them wait that long before I checked the bracket!"

Tandem Cancel's reporters asked the Tournament's Organizer for their opinion of what MightyMayoMan did. "Yeah, he's full of it. MayoMan made us wait double the amount of time we usually wait. The only reason we waited extra time was because his opponent was nice enough to wait for him, and he STILL didn't show after 20 minutes."

After being lambasted on the stream for a few minutes MightyMayoMan was dropped from the bracket, but he had no way of knowing as he was too absorbed in clearing level 4-6 and would be occupied with that for another 3 minutes.

When he found out about his marked loss MightyMayoMan was livid, and took his complaints to the community tournaments channel to try and rectify what he thought was an error.

"He was rambling on about how he had no way of knowing that he had to play despite the fact that he was coming off a win in the round before in losers, he should have been watching the bracket to see when his opponent drops down instead of playing Mario. I don't think he's figured out that he's the only one that cares about this yet, or that even if he somehow figured out the mental gymnastics he'd have to do to be in the right there's literally nothing that we could possibly do about it since the winner was already determined yesterday." explained one bystander. "If he wants to keep losing his mind over this he's welcome to, but nobody is listening so it's really just a waste of effort" The tournament organizers have stated that they do not wish to engage with MayoMan until he has calmed down, and based on his behavior that seems like a time that is very far away. Hopefully MayoMan learns from this experience and grows as a tournament participant, but before he does that he will have to defeat Bowser and save the Princess.
